Evening out: Big Rooftop Tea & Golf Party, Selfridges, London

So it turns out I’m a natural at crazy golf, which came as much of a surprise to me as it will to you – I’m not usually good at things that require this kind of hand-eye coordination. I’m terrible at bowling.

Bompas & Parr are a quirky duo renowned for their wonderful architectural jellies and fun foodie experiences. This was one such experience – they’ve partnered with Daylesford Organic to host a three-month event on the rooftop of Selfridges, bringing together afternoon tea and crazy golf. I headed there with Karl and some friends after work for a quick round. There were nine holes, each one representing a different London landmark, from the Gherkin to Tower Bridge. I’m pretty sure they’d given the impression that each one would be made out of cake, but this wasn’t the case – they were just decorated to look like they were. No matter, it was still terribly fun, and not just because I won!

Afterwards Karl and I stuck around for a drink at the cafe – Karl went for a classic Pimms, but I chose a gin, violet & elderflower jelly. Well, when you’re at a Bompas & Parr event, it’s the only way! It was fabulous, and so pretty.
